Introduction
- The connected vehicle technology could help solve many existing transportation problems such as safety, congestion, and ineffective utilization of road capacity.
- The successful deployment of the connected vehicle technology mainly depends on improved system-level performance and user experiences.
- In order to assess the real-world behavior of this technology, the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) has built several testbeds across the United States.
- In this study, the multi-modal intelligent traffic signal systems deployed in a connected environment in Maricopa County, Arizona state was evaluated.
