The connected vehicle technology could help solve many existing transportation problems such as safety, congestion, and ineffective utilization of road capacity.
The successful deployment of the connected vehicle technology mainly depends on improved system-level performance and user experiences.
In order to assess the real-world behavior of this technology, the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) has built several testbeds across the United States.
In this study, the multi-modal intelligent traffic signal systems deployed in a connected environment in Maricopa County, Arizona state was evaluated.
