University Research Week session discusses critical climate impacts on transportation

It’s University Research Week at UNC-Chapel Hill, and HSRC is excited to join the celebration by hosting a student-led interdisciplinary, pan-university session titled “Critical climate impacts on transportation: NC student researchers explore climate change, transportation resiliency and safety.” Last call to join us tomorrow, Thursday, Oct. 26, 2023, 1-2 p.m., to hear from three students doing NC-based research in their respective areas — geography, city and regional planning, and civil engineering — and to participate in the conversation. New HSRC Insights video features Sarah O’Brien, research focused on accessibility

Sarah O’Brien, Senior Research Associate, has extensive experience in nonmotorized planning, education, policy, design, and research. She works primarily on bicycle and pedestrian transportation safety projects at HSRC and thinks a lot about “how research can support efforts to improve accessibility and safety for everyone.” Currently, Sarah is working on a few projects focused on “how to improve the built environment and the places where people want to go to make them more accessible.”
